BioNordic A/S is proud to be a part of United Nation’s SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Accelerator program through our sister company Sera-Scandia A/S and our global initiative GIWWA (Global Initiative for a World Without Anemia).
Our purpose with this initiative is to work towards an end to iron-deficiency anemia in the world, through the development of iron-fortified food products that can directly impact and alleviate areas affected by this disease.
Our solution is unique, in that heme iron, the ingredient in our fortified food products used to provide a highly bioavailable form of iron, originates as a by-product from abattoirs. In this way, we are able to leverage our core activities to combat this disease while also contributing to a circular economy, based on converting otherwise hazardous waste in abattoirs to potentially lifesaving products.
In this way, we are committed to working with relevant stakeholders to contribute to a better environment and improve people’s lives.
